All this wet weather is a challenge in how to entertain a hyperactive kelpie …no walks and staying dry is not an option! Gum boots, walks avoiding the obvious muddy patches (and under cover window shopping in Norton street, as much as possible); higher risk of injuries slipping and sliding on wet ground always a bit of a concern.
So….semi-controlled walk on leash? not really with kelpies! Warm up with a walk to the park, then throwing the ball short distances, more of a game of catch rather than flat out runs, so far no sprains, still have a house in moderate order, just loads of wet towels and a competition for best spot in front of heater, always good to see all the local dog owners bolt for the park as soon as there’s a wee break in the deluge.
