I visited Where Pigs Fly farm sanctuary, with lovely friend Maria, and her 2 daughters, and my dog, Cody ( a young toy poodle who is tetraplegic following a neck injury). Where Pigs Fly is a  haven for rescued farm animals, started by Debbie, an ex Sydney woman who has followed her dream. A beautiful place, land, happy animals who would otherwise be dead or still living in misery. I met my first goat patient, a darling old lady with a very sore leg.  Cody was exhausted at the end of the day, I doubt that he has ever seen ( or smelled!) a goat, sheep, calf, bull, pig or chicken, probably never been up close to cow dung either, he was desperate to roll in it, and I stopped him, for the sake of Maria’s car and the trip home…I know, I’m a spoilsport.

….back in Sydney, made contact with TAD disability services, who make custom designed disability equipment for people…I was told they might be able to make a special cart/wheels for Cody…initial contact was promising…if the receptionist was surprised that the wheels were for a dog and not a child, she didn’t show it! Will be interesting to see what they come up with..
